GAPNEWS Akyem Abuakwa sits on time bomb due to chieftaincy disputes. There was wild jubilation in many communities in Akyem  which are experiencing chieftaincy disputes due to the incessant unlawful enstoolments and destoolments of chiefs by the Okyenhene; Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin Ii, Kyebi Executive Council  and Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council .  The reason being the quashing of destoolment of the Akyem Hemanhene; Osabarima Prof. Mmirikisi Atta Apori  Ii who has dedicated his life to fighting against environmental degradation in his area in particular and Ghana in general by a Koforidua High Court. Many of the litigating parties in over forty communities who as a result of lack of money to further pursue petitions they lodged before the Judicial Councils of the Akyem Abuakwa. GAPNEWS Koforidua court quashes Okyenhene’s destoolment of Akyem Hemanghene The  Division of Koforidua High Court has quashed the destoolment of Chief of Akyem Hemang Osabarima Prof. Mirikissi Apori Atta by the Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, President of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council on July 1, 2019. The Court, presided over by Her Ladyship, Mrs Justice Cecilia N.S. Davis in a 32 page Judgment delivered on April 3, 2020, declared that the decision by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council as announced by Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin destooling the Chief of Akyem Hemang for failing to appear before the council is ” null and void and of no legal effect and the said decision is quashed” The Court also awarded a cost of Gh10,000 against Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council and Okyenhene in favour of Chief of Akyem Hemang.
