Mr. Osafo-Maafo says, “I wish to emphasize that with a strong attitudinal change among public and civil servants towards Punctuality, Ghana will be far ahead in eliminating all forms of poor attitude to work, poor public service delivery, poor coordination among Ministries, etc. that impede the progress of development of our country.” Mr. Osafo-Maafo made this known on at the Punctuality Public Education Awareness Campaign by the Punctuality Ghana Foundation at the Conference Room of the Office of the Senior Minister. GAPNEWS MPs who want to stop a no-deal Brexit will seek to bring forward legislation against it this week, shadow Brexit secretary Sir Keir Starmer has said. He said the plan  was to prevent the PM "from taking us out of the EU without a deal" but he did not go into detail. Cabinet minister Michael Gove refused to guarantee that the government would abide by it if it passed, saying: "Let's see what the legislation says." The government is "not doing anything to facilitate a no deal", he said. Mr Gove also said "some" food prices "may go up" and "other prices will come down" in the event of a no-deal Brexit. Meanwhile, the EU's lead Brexit negotiator has rejected Boris Johnson's demands for the controversial Irish backstop to be scrapped.

GAPNEWS Most rural banks are well capitalized—ARB Apex Bank MD The Managing Director of the ARB Apex Bank, Kojo Mattah has maintained that most of the rural and community banks operating in the country are well capitalized and serving their clients, contrary to reports that majority of them are struggling. He stated that the services rendered by rural banks are critical to the economic stability of the country. “I can tell you that most of the rural and community banks are well capitalized and operating very well” he said adding that there is no need for panic withdrawals. According to him, over six million Ghanaians have different accounts with rural banks, making the industry a crucial one in closing the gap between the unbanked and banking population.
